While autumn is often seen as a time of slowing down — a transition marked by falling leaves , rain , and the onset of winter — the steel industry seems to be doing the exact opposite . Rather than shedding its momentum , the sector is entering a dynamic phase filled with innovation , growth , and exciting developments .
The event season is back in full swing , and we are witnessing a surge in new reports , breakthrough technologies , success stories , and projects reaching completion . You will find many of these highlighted within the pages of this issue .
Speaking of events , KCI and Green Steel World are hard at work preparing for the Green Steel World Conference 2025 in Düsseldorf , Germany . Planning is in full gear , and you can find more details on pages 46 and 47 . This event will focus on the crucial role of machine learning , AI , and smart steel in driving sustainable steel production . Although we are moving further from the warmth of summer and approaching the end of 2024 , there is still much ahead . It is not quite time for year-end reflections , but I sincerely hope our community finishes the year on a high note with more achievements and sustainable milestones .
