Fun Ways to Stretch Your Legs
Walks: Dawson Prairie, Shore Drive,
Hammer’s Trail and Winnebago Trail
Dawson Prairie is 54 acres of restored land. Mowed
trails wind through over 100 species of native grasses
and wildflowers, blooming late spring through
September. Abundant wildlife including deer, birds and
butterflies inhabit the prairie.
A walk on Shore Drive takes you along the lake and past
stately houses.
Hammer’s Trail is a wooded hike that begins in the Tea
House area. Winnebago Trail, originally used by the
Winnebago Indians, follows the shoreline and begins
near the Teen water tower.
Disc Golf
In disc golf players throw a flying disc (similar to a
Frisbee®) into a metal basket. Scored like a traditional golf
game, it is fun for all ages and requires no tee times! It’s
a great walk with great scenery and the only equipment
needed is a disc (available at Green Lake).
Winnebago Trail
