Joy in the Journey
A Psalm One Soul Care Retreat
for Pastors’ Wives
Feb. 26-28, 2015
“Are you tired? Worn out? Burned out on religion? Come
to me. Get away with me and you’ll recover your life. I’ll
show you how to take a real rest. Walk with me and work
with me--watch how I do it. Learn the unforced rhythms
of grace. I won’t lay anything heavy or ill-fitting on you.
Keep company with me and you’ll learn to live freely and
lightly.” (Matthew 11:28-30, The Message)
Ministry wives are invited to get away with Jesus to rest,
laugh, learn, and be refreshed. Just for a few days, leave
behind the busy-ness, pressures, worries, responsibilities,
concerns, kids, husband and noise. Housing is at the
beautiful Christian Writing Center, right on the lake. Enjoy
time around the fireplace unwinding, sharing, praying
and laughing--all with the encouragement of the Lord, the
Word and others who understand life in the ministry.
Fireplace at Christian Writing Center
Cost: $150 per person includes housing, materials,
meals and program fee. A few partial scholarships
are available. Space is limited to 12 women.

Silent Retreat
September 20, 2014
Step away from the
noise and have a private
conversation for an
extended period of time
with your thoughts.
Relax and recharge in a space to just “be.”
A silent retreat is simply a matter of going into a
separate place to seek Christian growth. It offers us
the grace to be ourselves in God’s presence without
self-consciousness. It is an opportunity to spend time
generously in the presence of God who helps us
empty ourselves of cares and anxieties, to be filled
up with the wisdom that restores us. Green Lake
Conference Center, with its abundance of quiet,
inspirational spaces, is ideal for silent retreats.
There are two brief sessions
during this day hosted by Janette
Stone to guide participants in their
contemplation. Janette is director
and founder of Olive Tree Ministries
and a well-respected Bible teacher,
inspirational speaker, author, and
Christian counselor. She has written five books and
uses the truths of the Scripture in a humorous and
forthright way.
The retreat begins at 8:30 a.m. and concludes
at 4:30 p.m. Cost: $25; includes lunch.
