Our goal is to build strong relationships with the Dawson Community (as well as our neighbours!) to work on projects for the greater good of all

Sustainable Dawson – Living Campus

Living Campus is a concept that integrates educational approaches under the vision of well-being for all and is the embodiment of the college’s commitment to the betterment of society. It recognizes that our entire campus is a learning lab that explicitly demonstrates that 1) Nature matters and 2) it mobilizes the College mission, values, vision and strategic plan through a sustainability filter.

Dawson Gardens

Sustainable Dawson, the Environmental Studies Profile, the Environmental Science Profile, and a group of dedicated faculty, staff and students comprise the Dawson Gardens team. Their current projects enrich the Dawson community and provide enhanced learning opportunities for the approximately 10,000 students enrolled in day and evening degree programs. Check out their events, projects, and volunteer opportunities to get involved. Thanks to Dawson Gardens, we continue to build a greener, healthier, and more sustainable future!

Right to Move

Our friends at Concordia! A non-profit organization that was started in the spring of 1997 by a group who believed bicycles are a form of transportation that should be available to all, regardless of gender, age, wealth or ethnicity. In order to make bicycling more accessible for all, they:

• have a drop-in, do-it-yourself bicycle shop where members can fix their own bicycles with the help of volunteer mechanics

• hold hands-on workshops series on bicycle maintenance three times per year in english and French

• accept and collect bicycles destined for the landfill, fix them and donate them or sell them at low cost to those who would not otherwise be able to afford a bicycle
