Kiwanis volunteer Dan Collins said the Quiet Zone will be down near the end of the parade route by Armstrong Bank .
“ Some children and adults have trouble with loud noise , like veterans with PTSD or children with autism . Those driving police and fire vehicles know not to blast their sirens and horns in that area ,” said Collins .
Friday night has included rodeos and a carnival for years , and now , the third annual Stilwell ’ s Got Talent .
“ Everyone is invited to participate , but they can ’ t be a professional who has received money for performing . We ’ ve had lip syncing and lots of dancing ,” said Kiwanis volunteer and emcee for the talent show , Tyler Davis .
Last year , the event featured a Cherokee rapper .
“ Talent shows are fun . You get to see people you didn ’ t know before perform , or friends you might not know had a talent . I enjoy seeing how much talent we have in Adair County ,” said Davis .
This year , the there are two categories : Junior Division for ages 12 and under and Senior Division for 13-yearolds and up . Signups can be done with Kiwanis volunteer Jennifer Patterson in the OSU Extension office in the Adair County Courthouse basement .
Brown said every Kiwanis has a fundraiser .
“ This is our main fundraiser to do the projects we do that go back into the community , like Fletcher Park , the stage , children ’ s wing at the library and now the golf course ,” said Brown .
