Foster isn ’ t the only artist to perform at Kroner & Baer , they also bring in a variety of artists as well as leave the floor open for those who would like to start getting their work out there .
“ We have open mic nights every other Tuesday so locals can get a variety of local artists which is hosted by Casey West and we are pretty happy to have him ,” said Payne . “ We also have trivia nights and music bingo on Thursday evenings , normally starting around 7 p . m .”
A local retired pastor , Brother John Lee , is quite a talented musician himself and plays multiple instruments in his music ministry , so he has become aware of several of the places locals can find good , enjoyable music .
“ NSU has a great concert series every year , Downtown Country is a good venue in the summertime , the Jazz Lab has occasional recitals , and the Town Branch all feature live music ,” said Lee . “ I have enjoyed the River City Players .”
There are also many visual experiences in Tahlequah worth visiting . The Cherokee Cultural Pathway , established by the Cherokee Nation , is open to the public . It features the work of Cherokee National Treasure Bill Rabbit ’ s daughter , Traci Rabbit .
The stunning visuals are placed around a peaceful pathway through stones and water features . Tucked away by the Cherokee National Courthouse , this attraction is free of charge .
In addition , places such as the Spider Gallery on Muskogee Avenue features the work of talented local artists and is conveniently located by the Kawi Cafe where locals can come in for a nice lunch and enjoy the art as well .
Whether it is songs or paintings to be enjoyed , Tahlequah has a variety of places in which to partake .
