Anvil Axe to open in downtown Claremore

CLAREMORE – Another entertainment venue is scheduled to open downtown in less than two weeks .
Gregg Ward and Brian Rogers will be opening Anvil Axe Co . on March 1 in the Red Rock Building downtown .
“ With the revitalization [ of downtown ], I believe we will bring an entertaining venue to the community ,” Ward said .
Anvil Axe Co . will have 10 lanes for throwing a variety of sharp objects including knives , hatchets and big axes . There will also be ping pong tables and a dart board .
“ It ’ s just a place to come and hang out ,” Ward said .
Anvil Axe Co . will be open from 5-9 p . m . Wednesday and Thursday , from
5-10 p . m . Friday and Saturday and from 5-8 p . m . on Sunday .
Ward said they chose to come to Claremore because of the location and they felt like they could fulfill a need .
“ This fit the bill of what we were looking for ,” he said . “ The demographics , the revitalization of downtown – we are excited about that .”
Red Rock Building owner Emily Dean said they had at least six businesses interested in the location . Dean said Anvil Axe Co . stood out because it paired well with Oklahoma Pizza Co . and created a great date night .
“ We loved the idea of it being something you can do ,” she said .
Dean said Anvil Axe Co . is enjoyable for all ages and is a business that would work well after hours .
“ If you go downtown after 5 , there ’ s plenty of parking ,” she said . “ We
