As the instructor for QNS 100: Navigating Your Path to Success, my role involves working with incoming international students to help them navigate their first semester of study at Queens College. A key aspect involves encouraging students to connect with their peers, and to take advantage of the various resources available on campus. Since most classes have moved online, it's been especially important for students to establish these connections early on.
What I enjoy most about my role is seeing the progress students make over the course of their studies. The first cohort I worked with had only been in college a month when we transitioned to remote learning, but I was so proud of what they were able to accomplish.
Thanks to the connections they made in class and the support provided through the Global Student Success Program (GSSP), the students have grown into confident and independent learners. That was a truly rewarding experience.
