Green Apple Issue 1 | Page 6

I have enjoyed working at NIC for the past eight years and am currently Coordinator for the Communications modules. This includes Diploma Tertiary Preparation modules, Foundation Communications modules, and Intercultural Studies.

I have been teaching for many years – as I love working with young people. I have worked with international students for 22 years now, and never fail to delight in the ongoing cultural experience and education I take from these young people daily.

As a teacher I feel privileged, and I and take responsibility in this position where I can help make a difference in shaping the future, through our students.

In each issue of GREEN APPLE we feature the profiles of teachers from different locations around the organisation.

After gaining my Certificate and BA (Hons) in Education & PCET at University of Southampton, and Master’s in fine art from University of Portsmouth, I joined the ICP, where I lecture on various subjects and aspects of arts & design. My specialist subjects are visual & 3D arts where my interdisciplinary practice gears me for participatory art, social and cultural exchanges.

As an artist, my work features conceptual recycled materials in sculptures, visual art, multimedia and installations. As an educational practitioner with over 25 years’ experience of working within further education, and currently within higher education, I enjoy the process of motivating learners and others.
