LEADERSHIP LACKAWANNA CORE PROGRAM CLASS OF 2019 “ One of the lessons that the Leadership Lackawanna Core Program taught me is that you don’t always need all the answers or to be running the show, you can be a leader just by being present. I have learned that we can make a huge impact with small gestures and that the combined effort of the group with a common goal is more powerful than the individual. – Kevin Morgan, Leadership Lackawanna Core Program Class of 2019 The highlight of the Leadership Lackawanna Core Program experience for many participants is the group project. One of this past year’s projects was to equip both the Multi-Purpose and Therapy rooms at St. Joseph’s Center’s Trinity Child Care Center with necessary equipment to meet children’s needs but, as some participants discovered, the project also equipped them with newly-discovered leadership skills. “My involvement in this project was transformational on many levels,” said team member Sherry Frable. “I will forever find great satisfaction in knowing that by using our group’s collective knowledge in business planning, fundraising, and project implementation, we were able to establish two sponsored rooms and a playground area that will benefit the children at Trinity Day Care for years to come.” 2020 B U SINE SS A ND B U Y E R S’ GU ID E / SCRANTONCHAMBER.COM | 25
