PROCESS TECHNOLOGIES
& PACKAGING
“
We enjoyed hosting the
teachers from area high
schools — it was exciting to
see how eager the teachers
were to be students as they
learned about contract
manufacturing and all the
opportunities that exist
within it.
– Catherine Slish, Process
Technologies & Packaging
With the ever-increasing demand for
manufacturing jobs, the Chamber’s
Educators in the Workplace program gives
area teachers the opportunity to get hands-
on experience at our region’s leading
companies that they could then bring back
to the classroom. “The educators who
got to visit us at Process Technologies &
Packaging has the chance to discover the
“life cycle” approach, which is a concept
we use as we work to convert a concept
to a consumer product,” said Catherine
Slish. “From the initial idea to sourcing raw
materials, creating a formula, testing and
evaluating, batching and shading, filling,
packing, and shipping, this cycle requires
all types of people with varying skills and
educational backgrounds. Thanks to this
program, the educators who attended can
help guide their students to career paths
in manufacturing that they may not have
known about otherwise.”
