“
Progressive legislation like
the 10-year LERTA can
change Scranton forever.
– Hon. Wayne Evans,
Mayor, City of Scranton
Investing in downtown Scranton’s future has always
been a major priority for the Chamber. Working
with the City of Scranton, the Scranton School
District, and Lackawanna County, the Chamber
helped get a LERTA (Local Economic Revitalization
Tax Assistance Act) abatement passed on all
residential, commercial and industrial properties
located within the city. “This was a classic example
of a true public-private partnership,” said City of
Scranton Mayor Wayne Evans, City of Scranton.
“Members of the administration and city council
worked hand in hand with the Greater Scranton
Chamber of Commerce to craft legislation that will
have a positive impact on growth in our city for
decades to come.”
