If arriving by air, Raleigh-Durham International Airport( RDU) has consistently been judged to be the favorite airport in North America among international business travelers, as well as consistently ranking as the most efficent small / medium airport in North America. RDU is also centrally located, making it a 15-mile drive to downtown Raleigh.
Choosing to drive here is just as convenient. Located centrally on the East Coast, Raleigh is halfway between Florida and New York. I-40, which connects the East and West Coasts, runs through Greater Raleigh. The area’ s first-rate system of state highways, the I-540 Outer Loop and the I-440 Beltline provide easy access to the city. I-95 and I-85 pass within 25 miles of the city.

RDU Terminal 2 has undergone a $ 600 million renovation. The new terminal features an expanded airline ticketing area and security checkpoint, 19 boarding gates, restaurants and shopping. Phase two opened in January 2011.
RDU Terminal 1 is currently undergoing a major modernization project.
RDU is 15 miles from downtown Raleigh – just a 20-minute drive.
