2024-2025 COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT HIGHLIGHTS
• Enid was ranked # 4 on the list of top 8 best places to live in Oklahoma and # 55 on the list of best places to live in the nation by US News and World Report.
• City of Enid announced plans for a new Jiffy Trip, public park and amphitheater to be built at the south gateway to Downtown Enid.
• City of Enid is planning a large sports complex for youth baseball, softball and football.
• Sparq Renewables, NextEra Energy and the City of Enid are nearing completion on the Scissortail Renewables project which will convert methane from municipal waste at the Enid City Landfill into renewable natural gas.
• City of Enid has acquired over approximately 600 acres and 600 utilized acres and $ 15.8 secured million $ 15.8 million
in ARPA funding to develop 66th St. West Industrial Park.
• City has been proactive in promoting affordable housing opportunities for Enid.
• Kaw Lake water pipeline is scheduled for completion in Fall 2025. The project will provide a diversified, sustainable water source for Enid.
• TAKKION completed its new remanufacturing center which performs gearbox and main shaft repairs for wind towers. The company will provide 50 full-time jobs initially.
• NextEra Energy Resources is building a 250-megawatt solar energy center paired with 200-megawatts of battery storage southeast of Enid.
• AircoCorp, Inc. opened their facility on East Willow St.( previously Hackney Ladish) and is providing top-tier industrial coating to their corporate clients.
• Bri-Steel opened its seamless pipe manufacturing facility in the former GEFCO building.
• Improvements at Enid Woodring Regional Airport include a south ramp upgrade and a second new joint use hangar. The projects provide crucial mission support for Vance AFB.
