MLinda Weppner The Greater Cheyenne Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors Chairman Prosperous and Quality Community KEY POINTS When presented with the opportunity to chat about how the Greater Cheyenne Chamber of commerce fulfills its mission of making Cheyenne a prosperous and quality community to work, live and do business, all kinds of words swarmed through my head. I then wondered how I can summarize everything our business organization does. After pondering for a bit, it occurred to me that listing one-word key points would be a great start. • • • • • • • • • • • • • • Support Advocate Growth Engagement Western Propserity Education Luncheons Implementation Community Capitol City Governance Networking • • • • • • • • • • • • • • Taking all these words which aptly describe our Chamber’s activities, it is obvious that the promotion and protection of our community’s businesses are the heart and soul of our Chamber as it is in any community. The crux is showcasing our community so it exhibits economic vitality, which allows our present businesses to prosper and in turn, encourages others to choose our community over another. The healthiest economies are broad, diverse and generate well-paying jobs which, in turn, create a quality of life and a standard of living sought by all. Our Chamber excels in this by being an integral part of business expansion and attraction, providing internal and external entrepreneurial connections, project innovation, economic Politics gardening, and Economcis marketing and Locality regional branding. So, how is this History accomplished? By Culture you.... the partners Protection of our many and Forums varied committees Socials such as the Political Action Committees, Government the Prosperity Business committees and State the Partnership County committees. Whether it’s the Business politically active Military Chamber Action & Advocacy, the forward thinking Business Council or the welcome mat rolled out by the Red Carpet Committee, our partners with the guidance of our leadership, the President/CEO and the staff, are fulfilling the Chamber’s mission with commitment and passion. In recognition of the Chamber’s successes, we must also acknowledge the advocacy role for the military presence in our community. F.E. Warren Air Force Base, the Army National Guard, the Air National Guard and the U.S. Navy are precious commodities. Through the Military Affairs Committee, which provides troop support and education, and through the Wyoming Wranglers Committee, which is a politically active advocate at the Federal Government Level, our Chamber has had an impact in preserving and expanding Cheyenne’s largest employer, the United States military. In reflecting on how the Greater Cheyenne Chamber of Commerce fulfills its mission of making Cheyenne a prosperous and quality community to work, live and do business, it is obvious that our Chamber exhibits the “Six Pillars of Character Counts” as the business advocate for its partners- trustworthiness, respect, responsibility, fairness, caring and citizenship. Thank you for being a partner of the Greater Cheyenne Chamber of Commerce. Together, we have a strong business community and together, we are the Greater Cheyenne Chamber of Commerce.
