According to MyMove.com’s Consumer Insights Study, in the last 12 months, “starting a new job” consistently ranks in the top 5 reasons for moving to a new community. Other top reasons for relocating included being closer to family and friends, closer to work, more affordable and the need to upsize or downsize. About half of those who relocated moved to another state or out of the country. When moving for a career opportunity, don’t only evaluate the short term changes but think about the long term results of this decision, from impacts on your lifestyle to the size and atmosphere of your community. Determine if you are ready to start this new adventure. If you are, that is great! Many communities are seeking talent and skills to help develop their communities. Once you found a job the next part is getting ready to relocate.
