he Military Affairs Committee hosted the
Military Appreciation Proclamation Event
where Governor Matt Mead proclaimed May
15th, 2015 as Military Appreciation Day and
Col. Tracey Hayes spoke of the signifance
of our Armed Forces. This special event
was attended by State Legislators, Mayor
Rick Kaysen, Governor Matt Mead, Military
Dignitaries, Combat Veterans, community
members, ROTC Cadets and even Cowboy
Challenge Cadets.
heyenne Professional Network went on
an adventure to Laramie, Wyoming to
tour the newest addition to the University of
Wyoming Campus, the Marian H. Rochelle
Gateway Center. The events center houses
ballrooms, beautiful patios, lobby areas,
meeting rooms and so much more. Unique
to this space and great for employers are
the new interview rooms. Businesses can
contact the center to reserve an interveiw
room to recruit directly on campus. The
details in the building were spectacular and
the services this building will provide will
take UW to a new level.
ollegeAmerica celebrated their 10th
year anniversary of their scholastic
venture here in Cheyenne, Wyoming.
Jaime Davis, Associate Director of
CollegeAmerica, shared that she was
proud and excited to share this monumental
time for CollegeAmerica with the business
community and welcomed everyone
through their modern facility during their
Business After Hours. This is just one of
the many events they hosted throughout
the week.

he Military Affairs Committee had
the opportunity to venture to Camp
Guernsey, the Joint Training Facility for our
National Guard. This excursion allowed
civilians the chance to experience first hand
the facilities, technologies and exlusive
training opportunities that Camp Guernsey
houses on its broad range of terrain.
Overall, Camp Guernsey is a preparedness
center for those in the armed forces and
most all who are active duty will visit this
facility at some point during their military
career.
igh West Energy hosted a luau
themed Business After Hours where
the business community mingled in their
Hawaiian attire. The event was a great
excuse to dust off the fun floral hawaiian
shirts to kick start the summer months
here in Cheyenne. Those who wore the
best dressed luau gear had the opportunity
to win a prize. With great island themed
food and a tropical atmosphere, High West
Energy hosted a successful and tropical
Business After Hours.
he Military Appreciation Celebration

Ostlund, CPA PC was hosted by the Military
Affairs Committee. Uniting community
members with military members to visit
and witness the military’s tools, technology
and equipment, participants had a fun
filled day. From grilling burgers and hot
dogs, to a balloon twister, race cars,
historic military vehicles, and even a dunk
tank, this community event was filled with
entertainment. The support from the
military and the community made this event
a success.
