FACTS & FIGURES
65.7% of individuals in educational services
in Wyoming have at least a bachelor’s
degree. This explains that a large proportion
of those employed in Wyoming’s educational
industry in 2011 made a large impact on
Wyoming’s economy. Additionally, of those
employed by the Educational Services, only
5.3% are non-residents, compared to other
industries like Leisure & Hospitality which
has nearly 30% non-resident and only 20%
have a bachelor’s degree.
Overall, Wyoming has an aging population.
This is a concern for the Wyoming
Workforce. A question that has arised is
how to recruite young professionals and
retain them while the older generations exit
the workforce.
Wyoming’s ecomony is strongly affected
by those in educational services because
they not only help generate a quality future
workforce for the State of Wyoming, but
play an important role on the sale of homes,
retail sales and additional expenditures
that stimulate the economy. Understanding
education’s role is a requirement. The
Greater Cheyenne Chamber of Commerce
has developed an active, well informed
committee called the Education Task Force
that is working towards combatting these
gaps for both employers and educators. If
