Chamber accomplish all of this? The Chamber President and his staff and a host of dedicated volunteer participants make this all happen, including you, the Greater Cheyenne Chamber of Commerce Partners. Is there anything else? Of course!! For our businesses with their “feet on the street,” the Chamber is a marketing guru. Their members are listed on the Chamber website, which in Cheyenne receives nearly 100,000 hits per year. Chamber partners are invited to serve on the Committees of their choice, which provide significant networking opportunities. Partners are also encouraged to attend the monthly luncheons. These luncheons serve as a business resource center with engaging speakers and relevant information. Additionally, all are wlecomed to be entertained with fun social activities such as Business After Hours, giving all of the members an opportunity to meet and greet in a relaxed atmosphere while showcasing their business. But, what if I don’t have time to get involved and join in all of these activities? That’s fine. You are the master of your schedule. Rest assured and keep in mind, your Chamber is always working for you, it is your very own business advocate. You can call on it at any time. Every partnership is a valuable partnership. PG 8 l Update The previous paragraph has related the member-centric benefits of your Chamber membership. There have been, however, many studies commissioned over the years to determine the value to businesses, in terms of consumer activity, of joining and being active in your local Chamber of Commerce. The question posed was, “Do consumers really support businesses because they are Chamber members?” The results speak for themselves. Most consumers think that being active in your local Chamber of Commerce is an effective business strategy. Statistics show that your Chamber membership, more than any other method of measurement, is nearly 30% more effective for communicating to consumers that your company uses good business practices and over 26% more effective for communicating that your business is reputable. The studies also show that when consumers know that a business is a member of the Chamber of Commerce, they are nearly 50% more likely to think favorably of it and 63% more likely to purchase goods or services from that company in the future. So, display your Chamber membership plaque prominently and proudly. The numbers are in. The “buzzword phrase” of this decade is “value added.” By now, we should recognize the real “Value” of our Chamber membership, however, for a quick reference, let’s reduce it to 4 specific bullet points. Our “value added” is: 1. Value of Information 2. Value of Influence 3. Value of Interaction 4. Value of Impact We can’t sign off, though, without recognizing another measure of Value…..and that is our Members. Once again, welcome and thank you to all of our new Members for joining, and thank you to all of our current Members for your continued support. We’re an 1100 member business organization…that is definitely a Badge of Honor. Wear it with Pride!!
