hopping from local merchants is important
to the well-being of our local economy.
“Shopping local is all about supporting your
neighbors. The business
owners of Cheyenne are the people
who live in your area, volunteer in the
community and support local events, as
well as non-profits. Shopping local also
keeps your tax dollars local. The sales
tax collected in Laramie County goes to
building our schools, our roads and our
civic enrichment programs.” stated Katy
Rinne, owner of The Statement.
This year, a variety of local merchants
celebrated “Small Business Saturday.” Nationally, this
day is celebrated the Saturday following Black Friday
to raise awareness on the importance of shopping
locally throughout the year. To celebrate this year, small
businesses throughout Cheyenne rallied together and
hosted special events at their locations featuring great
products, services, discounts and giveaways.
Tammy Martinez, manager at Epitome Cosmetic
Boutique expressed, “We were so happy to see an
amazing turnout and really appreciated all of the people
coming to support local businesses.”
