Wyoming Wranglers
The Greater Cheyenne Chamber of Commerce

T
he Wyoming Wranglers is a Committee of the Greater Cheyenne
Chamber of Commerce that focuses on the furthering the prosperity of our
community through advocacy at the federal level. Military is an important focus
of this committee but it also actively pursues transportation and other economic
development initiatives that are important to Cheyenne’s future. The Wyoming
Wranglers accomplish their goal through
a consultant who works in Washington
DC to achieve the local initiatives sent
up from the Wyoming Wrangler Committee. This is an extension on local
and state governmental affairs, making the Greater Cheyenne Chamber of
Commerce a crucial resource for buisnesses.
The Wyoming Wranglers program advocates, keeping a strong military presence in Cheyenne. They work diligently
to maintain the personnel, equipment
and funding necessary to nurture the
very important mission that Warren
Air Force Base and the Wyoming Guard
accomplish for the defense of our nation.
The Wranglers understand, however, that
support to the mission also requires a
moral obligation to the men and women
who serve in uniform in our community.
Recently, we had the opportunity to support the men and women of our region
that have paid a great sacrifice in support of our nation. Former Vice President
Dick Cheney and his daughter Liz Cheney
teamed up and with the Wrangler Committee to host a fundraiser for Wounded
Warriors from our region. Wyoming Wrangler’s Wounded Warrior Project event was
particularly interesting because it featured
Former Vice President Dick Cheney discussing not politics but rather his book
“Heart: An American Medical Odyssey.”
“IF YOU FEELYOUR
LIKE
A VICTIM OF
CONDITION YOU
WILL ONLY LIMIT
YOURSELF AND
YOUR
ASPIRATIONS.”-
FORMER VICE PRESIDENT DICK CHENEY
The event was the first of its kind in Wyoming and the local community stepped up
and to help these deserving defenders of
liberty. The Wounded Warriors Project
serves veterans and service members
who incurred a mental or physical injury,
illness or wound, co-incident to their military service. During this event he opened
up to the captive audience about his thir-
ty-five year battle with heart disease, his
relationship he forged with his doctor, his
experiences with medical advances over
the years and his struggles and triumphs
on both a personal and political level. As
one of the world’s most prominent heart
patients, Vice President Dick Cheney was
and is a great ambassador of hope for
heart patients everywhere.
“If you feel like a victim of your condition
you will only limit yourself and your aspirations.” This quote from Vice President
Dick Cheney at our Wounded Warriors
event says it all about the mission of the
Wyoming Wranglers. We can either feel
like a victim or we can work to achieve a
strong vibrant future for Cheyenne and the
region.
