MRepresented in D.C. Partnership for Prosperity By: Jim Hearne, 2015 Wyoming Wrangler Committee Chairman The purpose of the Wyoming Wranglers is to further the prosperity of the military community in Cheyenne and the surrounding area, and to pursue other developmental and economic opportunities. This includes protecting our economy through the preservation and growth of military personnel, assets, and missions in our community, improving transportation options and facilities to prepare our infrastructure for a strong and diversified future, and influencing the issues that are important to sustaining and growing business. The group conducts advocacy work on a city, state, and national level. advocating for the issues that impact the livelihood and wellbeing of the community in which we live. Those efforts have helped to influence the improvement of both large and small infrastructure projects needed by our local military. Some examples of these projects include the front gate improvements at the Base and the Squadron Operations building at the Wyoming National Guard facility. Over 400 personnel have been added through the force improvement program, the majority of whom have been security forces. The approval process and allocation of $95 million is underway with the anticipation that the Missile Roll Transfer Facility will be funded. Other projects under consideration to be funded in the future include the Consolidated SQ OPS/TRF Facility, the Weapons Storage Facility, Dog Kennel, Dormitory, and an updated Airframe for helicopters. The United States Forest Service will be receiving C-130s from the Coast Guard to assist their firefighting mission. Cheyenne has been working to be considered a candidate to house these C-130s. We believe that Cheyenne has the facility, tarmac, and resources for the required maintenance of these C-130s. Our advocacy efforts are greatly enhanced through a strategic partnership formed with our consultant in Washington, DC. This consulting arrangement is made possible largely by the financial support of our Wrangler members. A priority of the Wranglers has been communicating the need for a strong and viable strategic nuclear deterrence to the Wyoming delegation, as well as delegations from othe
