Esports
TVCC Esports celebrated the program’ s first-ever national championship in May during its fifth year as a program, with Diego Varela winning the EA SPORTS FC 26 national title match against Trinidad State.
“ This is our fifth year, and we have had a lot of success,” TVCC Esports Coach James Jones said.“ We have been knocking on the door numerous times but just haven’ t been able to push through. We had an opportunity to kick the door down and take the program’ s first national title. I feel once that momentum gets going, more titles will follow. TVCC is already known in the NJCAA Esports world, but this puts some bright lights on it. Personally, I would be lying if I didn’ t say it was a huge milestone. A lot of love and sacrificed time has been poured into this program. The goal is to see the athletes’ hard work rewarded with the ultimate prize. At the end of the day, my accomplishments are based on how fulfilled each athlete feels at the end of their time at TVCC.”
TVCC followed that championship with a second national title, winning the NJCAA Esports Invitational National Championship in Overwatch.
