Livestock season brings out best in students , community

A pril is Rodeo Time in Henderson
County and the local Go Texan Committee is celebrating with Riding , Roping and Scholarships .
The group of gentlemen decided in 1997 to start a program that would promote agriculture and allow for scholarships that would be beneficial to many in Henderson County .
April is also Child Abuse Prevention Month and Henderson County is “ Going Blue ,” to spread awareness . The Go Blue Program is a joint effort that includes the District Attorney ’ s Office , Henderson County Help Center , Sheriff ’ s Office , and County Attorney ’ s Office and includes selling Go Blue t-shirts to raise funds for child abuse prevention programs .
This month ’ s issue also includes profiles on prominent women in Henderson County history who left their marks in local government .
