Colin Loudan
Colin Loudan is the valedictorian of the Mabank High School Class of 2022 . Colin is the son of Chris Loudan and Lesa Pierce . Over the past four years , Colin has been very involved in academics , extracurricular activities , and community service . Throughout high school , Colin has been a part of the Mabank Scholars Institute , allowing him to take many Pre-AP , AP , and dual credit classes while maintaining a 4.0 grade point average . He has been an active member in the community through the National Honor Society as well as through the Boy Scouts of America , an organization in which he earned his Eagle Scout rank . Colin has played tennis on the varsity tennis team all four years of high school , making the THSCA Academic All-State Elite Team his senior year . He also competed on the Science UIL team all four years of high school , advancing to regionals as a team his junior year and individually his senior year . Colin also played trombone in the marching and concert band all four years of high school , making the ATSSB All-State Band his junior year . He was also the drum major of the marching band his junior and senior year and will travel to Austin this May to compete in the Texas State Solo and Ensemble Contest with his trombone quintet . Colin is very excited to announce that he will continue his education at Texas A & M University in the fall to study chemical engineering . He , however , hopes to pursue a career as a commercial airline pilot .
Sydney Payne
Syndey Payne is the Salutatorian of Mabank High School ’ s class of 2022 . She is the daughter of Tammy and Brady Payne and she is the younger sister of Matthew Payne . During her time in high school , Sydney has heavily involved herself in many extracurricular activities , balancing them with her academic studies . Throughout the past four years , Sydney has rigorously applied herself in her AP and Dual-Credit classes . With this , she gained the AP Capstone Diploma and the National Rural and Small-Town Recognition Program from College Board . Sydney has also participated in theater for six years , playing multiple lead roles in school productions . She is the yearbook ’ s current editor-in-chief and the president of Mabank ’ s National Honor Society . During her time in clubs such as Beta Club , Student Council , and Interact Club , Sydney has been able to give back to her community by volunteering with her fellow students . This year , Sydney advanced to state in UIL Editorial Writing , making it the third time she ’ s proceeded to state during high school . After graduation , Sydney will prepare to attend Southern Methodist University in the fall to pursue a career in the field of film and media .
