Cards win regular season football title

The Trinity Valley Community College football season , that began with a lot of uncertainty in August , ended inside a climate controlled facility in Iowa .
Cards coach Sherard Poteete had to overhaul much of his team heading into the season . In the spring , players left for Division 1 schools leaving no returning offensive starters and only four on defense .
“ Yes , we were hit hard , but everyone took hits ,” Poteete said .
The school began its 75th season with a trip west to play Snow . The Cards were dominated , 36-14 . After a win over an overmatched team in their second game came an early showdown between TVCC and Tyler .
Tyler led 27-14 when the Cards came to life in the fourth quarter and took the lead . Quarterback Darian Peace hit on 13 of 24 for 168 in the game . His longest toss was for 56 yards to Haymond Drinkard , during an 80-yard TD drive that gave the Cards the one-point edge with 8:13 left .
Quincy Thompson ran for 122 yard in the win .
TVCC had another tight conference game , a 29-23 win over Navarro . After completing league play unbeaten ,
Trinity Valley was the regular season champ of Southwest Junior College Football Conference .
Trinity Valley scored 31 points per game during the regular season , 11th most in the country . They gain over 420 yards per game , mostly through their passing attack which goes for 260 yards per game .
Peace was a second team all-conference choice at QB . He threw for 2146 yards and
