Summer evenings are made for gathering, and the Athens area offers plenty of ways to enjoy them. Local vineyards such as Tara Winery and 3 P’ s in a Vine create the perfect setting to relax with friends, enjoy occasional live music, and sip a local vintage after a warm East Texas day.
On the square, Athens Brewing Company has become another favorite gathering place where craft beverages, hand-created food, trivia nights, and community spirit come together with patio seating available too.
Downtown Athens is also buzzing with new energy as additional bars, restaurants and a family-friendly ice house are expected to open on the square by late October. That means even more options for date nights, group outings, Friday night lights on the big screen and those spontaneous evenings out close to home.
