Events — OSCA’s
key focus in ‘17

The year is well and truly in full swing
and so too is the Old Scotch Collegians’
Association. At a recent OSCA Council
meeting, we discussed the successes of
2016 and how we can continue to build
momentum in 2017. memories come flooding back as you
see old faces that you may have lost
touch with in recent years.
Earlier this year OSCA hosted the
highly successful Scotch Family Chinese
New Year Dinner, which is covered in and OSMaD’s 2016 production, The
Pajama Game winning Production of the
Year — Musical in the Lyrebird Awards
in Melbourne, as well as several other
awards. The soccer and football clubs
have renewed energy, with exciting
Events remain a key focus for OSCA,
and reunions are the cornerstone of another article in the OSCA pages of
this issue, and there have been well winter seasons just beginning.
As I always say, you’re never too old
this program. This year we have already
successfully staged the Class of 1987 attended Scotch Family branch events in
Brisbane, Perth and Mornington. OSCA or too young to become involved.
30 year reunion, the Class of 1977 40
year reunion, and the Class of 1967 50 will continue to reach out through these
events, with the Association putting year reunion, all of which were wonderful
opportunities for Old Boys to renew
acquaintances with the teenagers of their
school years, some of whom may have
changed a little in the meantime!
I strongly encourage anyone with a
reunion scheduled in 2017 to be sure to
make time to catch up with those whom
you knew you as a younger person.
It’s most rewarding to have all of those energy into organising events for our
Hong Kong and New York alumni.
Our clubs have been very active
over the summer, with the athletics club
achieving great results, the bushwalking
club organising a summer evening walk
through the Royal Botanic Gardens
and a tour of the old observatory, our
cricketers just falling short in their grand
final in the MCC Club XI competition,
