Museum (such as it was in that era) had been
completely disbanded the previous year, and
there was no logical place for the medal to
be stored and displayed. The current Scotch
Archives was established in 1985.
The locations of all eight oars from that
famous crew are known, as is the Australian
flag that flew from its bow, and also the
locations of seven of the gold medals awarded
to the nine crew members. Disher’s is one of
the two missing medals.
Anyone with information on the location of
the missing medal, or where it was last seen,
is requested to contact the Archivist,
Paul Mishura, on 03 9810 4470 or email:
[email protected].
