(CREDITS FOR BOTH PHOTOS – ANDREW GUERIN) SCOTCH RACES STRONGLY AT HENLEY ROYAL REGATTA Scotch sent two crews to compete at the 2019 Henley Royal Regatta, held from Wednesday 3 to Sunday 7 July – an eight that raced in the Princess Elizabeth Challenge Cup, and a quad scull which competed in the Fawley Challenge Cup. Henley Royal Regatta attracts the best crews from around the world, and the racing has taken place at the town of Henley-on-Thames on the River Thames in Oxfordshire, England, 37km south-east of Oxford, since 1839. On the Friday prior to the regatta, hundreds of crews time trial for the privilege of having a race in the actual regatta. Each race at the regatta consists of two crews racing one on one, with the winner advancing and the loser eliminated from further competition. The race course is unique, measuring 2112m, and flanked by wooden pilings and booms on each side. During the regatta thousands of spectators line
