for the College , and one that seeks to support all family members as they face the inevitable bumps along the road .
In considering the journey of Scotch , despite some ups and downs over our long history , overwhelmingly I believe it is one that has been richly blessed . In looking back , we can pay tribute to so many people who have invested their time , talents and finances into this great school .
Indeed , today , we each benefit from the contributions of others . It is therefore important and indeed right for us to ask , what will be our contribution to future generations ?
As we commence a new strategic plan , I am confident we have the students , staff , and community to shift up a gear or two to pursue some new roads previously unexplored . This year we announced the purchase of an amazing 175-acre property at Mallacoota . This new facility will put many Scotch boys ‘ on the road ’, whether bitumen or bush , and provide many challenging experiences where boys will experience the expression ‘ life is difficult ’, but equally , that it is joyous and beautiful .
In reflecting on the feedback from the Scotch Family , we know we must develop a greater focus on service . This commitment is grounded in our heritage and will become more embedded into a Scotch education .
Our recently established formal partnership with Tiwi College similarly represents an opportunity for our boys to learn more about life . Whether serving or learning from our friends at Tiwi College , I believe we can create an enduring legacy for future generations through this partnership .
Whether on the road with OSCA , hiking around our new property at Mallacoota or travelling to the Tiwi Islands , the Scotch Family must be involved . How can our parents and alumni participate in the Scotch journey ? How might parents and alumni take part in our Tiwi Program or be involved in our new Outdoor Education Program ? How will the Scotch Family make a greater contribution to service in and beyond our community ?
The Scotch Family has much to contribute . For generations , students , parents and many others beyond our family have benefited from the generosity , commitment , sacrifice and service demonstrated by members of our community . As we set out to explore new roads , I wish to challenge all members of the Scotch Family to sacrificially contribute to our journey . How will your contribution positively impact the lives of others and inspire future generations ?
