OSCA Bowls A competitive and friendly bowls environment The Old Scotch Bowls Club is approaching a very significant milestone in its history – in December 2020 the club will celebrate its half-century. Film DAVID PASSES THE PRESIDENTIAL BATON TO IAN 78 Great Scot Issue 158 – December 2019 Our vibrant club provides an opportunity for all members of the wider Scotch Family, men and women, to enjoy the activity of bowling and socialising in a relaxed and informal bowling format. So if you’re retired or about to retire and you’re looking to develop a new interest in your retirement while enjoying the friendship and fellowship of your fellow Scotch Family members, then bowls with the strong and friendly Old Scotch Bowls Club could be for you. Right now there are vacancies at the club for men and women. No bowling experience is necessary. Our club plays matches against similar APS clubs on Wednesday afternoons through a limited 11-game season from September to April. Members can decide how many or how few games they wish to play. The Old Scotch Bowls Club offers: • a relaxed and informal atmosphere and bowling environment; • the opportunity for members to play as many or as few matches as they wish; • an outlet to stay active and enjoy the friendship and fellowship of members of the Scotch Family; • free beginners’ classes; • first class Melbourne Cricket Club shared clubhouse and green facilities in Hawthorn, courtesy of the MCC Bowling section; and • inexpensive membership and match day fees. Scotch Family members who belong to other bowling clubs are also most welcome to join our club.
