department. Peter has Bachelor of Education
and Bachelor of Science degrees from Monash
University, and for the past four years has
taught Mathematics to all levels at St Kevin’s
College.
Nicholas Miller, who holds a Bachelor
of Architectural Design degree, joins our Art
department from St Francis Xavier College,
Berwick, and is teaching Visual Communication
and Design, Studio Arts and Art. Nicholas is
also a tutor in Lawson House. Nicholas is a
keen artist in his own right, holding a number
of exhibitions and being shortlisted for the
Australian Tapestry Workshop Design Prize for
Architects.
Hayley Sandpearl is our new Head of
Drama. Educated in the United Kingdom,
Hayley has most recently been Director of
Drama and Acting IB Coordinator at Lauriston
Girls’ School. Hayley has a breadth of
experience in Drama, having been an assessor
in VCE Drama and Theatre Studies and fulfilling
various roles, including the presidency, within
the Drama Victoria Committee of Management.
Apart from a keen interest in Drama, Hayley
has found time to manage the local cricket and
football teams, achieve Grade 8 on the trumpet,
and to sing in a local choir.
Ed Smithers joins the Commerce
department, where he is teaching Business
Management and Year 10 Commerce. Ed’s
most recent teaching experience has been
at Ivanhoe Grammar School, where he was a
Head of House and Head of Commerce. Prior
to that, Ed worked at both Loreto Mandeville
Hall and Tintern Grammar. In addition to his
teaching duties, Ed is a tutor in Littlejohn
House.
Daniel Wightman has joined our English
department. Daniel is an experienced and
well-credentialled teacher, who has spent the
last six years teaching English and English
Language. Prior to this, he worked in a range of
educational environments in Australia and the
UK. Daniel has also been an assessor in VCE
English Language, NAPLAN, and the General
Achievement Test. In addition to teaching
English and English Language, Daniel is a tutor
in Gilray House.

Tony Wilson joins our Mathematics
department. Tony hails from the UK where he
has been teaching at the Whitgift School, South
Croydon. In addition to his teaching duties,
Tony was Head of First Form, responsible
for more than 240 Year 6 and Year 7 boys,
and coached cricket and hockey. As well as
teaching Maths across Years 8 to 12, Tony is a
Gilray House Tutor.
