OSCA OSCA Executive Director – Mr Scott Montgomery ('85) MR SCOTT MONTGOMERY ('85) OSCA EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR AN OPEN CHANNEL TO OUR YOUNG ALUMNI 1. A vibrant group is helping OSCA engage fully with its youngest Old Boys One of the great challenges of any alumni organisation is how to engage with its youngest members as they depart the school and head off into the wider world. What keeps them connected to their old school, and why would they want to, anyway? It’s well known among school alumni organisations that people under the age of 25 have been an under-engaged community. And yet engaging with this sector is vital — this group is OSCA’s future. OSCA realises that it needs to capture this group’s interest and engage with them before they leave school, to create an early awareness of the Association and the services it provides, especially those aimed at young Old Boys — YOBs, as we call them. To that end, I’m extremely pleased that a group of YOBs has formed a vibrant committee which meets regularly at Scotch and has lively discussions, and makes suggestions about issues relating to engagement with the young Old Boy community. This committee was set up last year. The 2018/2019 committee includes James Malon (’13 — Chairman), Mitch Bradley (’10 — Vice Chairman 1), Lachie Strathmore (’15 — Vice Chairman 2), Bec Marshall (Secretary); supported by general committee members John Stavris (’12), Tom Ryan (’09), James Zagame (’14), Sam Sherlock (’16), Tom Anderson (’15), Charlie Schilling (’17), Teddy Webster (’17), Nick Jarman (’09), Campbell Matthews (’14), Jack Slobom (’14) and Richie Goodey (’14). As Secretary, Bec Marshall provides the group with a tangible link to the OSCA office. It’s a vibrant group, which is playing an important role in helping OSCA to engage fully with our youngest Old Boys. NUMBERED: 1. JAMES MALON ('13). 2. MITCH BRADLEY ('10). 3.
