‘It is an interesting and exciting time to be
alive.’ I suspect that people have used this phrase
many times over the ages. The invention of the
Gutenberg printing press heralded a new age for
society as did the harnessing of electricity, the
invention of the camera, the automobile, the
telephone, television and computers. However, I
suspect that the creation of the internet and the
way that it has provided us with never before
imagined access to information, knowledge
and the ability to communicate across the globe
will probably be seen as having one of the most
significant impacts on society we will ever see.
So many amazing opportunities have been, and
continue to be, created since Tim Berners-Lee,
a British scientist, created the World Wide Web
