In early 2025 , we will share our new integrated strategic plan with the school community . It will clarify the College ’ s direction by affirming our purpose , values and guiding beliefs , while detailing our strategic aspirations .
We will promote responsibility , respect and reverence , and new approaches to learning , leadership , and collaboration . We will seek to ensure our students are well prepared for the challenges of the future while remaining rooted in the College ’ s rich heritage .
In practice , this means creating an environment where open communication , strong inclusive leadership and shared values are at the forefront .
Leaders , whether they are in the classroom or among students , are called to promote collaboration and purpose . Empowering students and staff to seek and follow their interests and passions promotes personal growth and provides opportunities to partner with , and serve , others . This builds meaningful relationships and a sense of community and belonging .
Scotch ’ s collective strength is manifest in many ways . Academically , students who collaborate with one another , share knowledge and support each other ’ s growth , are typically the most successful . The same applies to extracurricular activities , where teamwork and mutual support are essential to success , whether in sport , the arts , outdoor activities or community service . Collaboration not only helps develop the whole boy , but it prepares him for life beyond school , by instilling the importance of being connected within a community and to lifelong learning .
Beyond this , uniting our school family helps to ensure Scotch remains a resilient , adaptable institution . Challenges and adversities are inevitable , but when students , teachers , staff , parents and alumni stand together and we draw on our diverse gifts and talents , it strengthens the Scotch ‘ Cardinal Thread ’, we benefit as a community and can achieve great things together .
