JOHN MONTGOMERY (‘ 59 ) has made a significant contribution to the Old Scotch Football Club for over 60 years . John began with the OSFC in 1961 , joining the under-age team straight out of school . After that , John volunteered his time with his son Scott ’ s team in various roles , as both the bar and kiosk manager and served as a committee member for two years from 1992-1993 . In 1994 , John became President of the club , following the move to Camberwell Sports Ground .
Since his time as President , John has remained actively involved with the club , as a timekeeper for both the men ’ s Premier Seniors and Reserves teams , as well as making significant financial contributions to support the club .
Arguably , John ’ s most significant contribution to the club is the two generations of the Montgomery family who have followed him , and who have also been active contributors on and off the field . John was made a life member of the club in 2000 and has received club and VAFA awards for his outstanding service .
