OSCA is uniquely placed to engage the Scotch Family to enable such things as :
 Year 10 boys finding work experience opportunities ;
 Helping the school ’ s career activities and better preparing boys for their transition ‘ beyond the gates ’;
 Developing opportunities for professional and industry connections for young and mid-career Old Boys , and potentially partnering with alumni organisations from selected girls ’ schools to create ‘ gender agnostic ’ opportunities ;
 Connecting the school ’ s many parent auxiliaries to OSCA ’ s clubs and societies , to enable Old Boys and the rest of the Scotch Family to pursue their sporting , recreational and cultural interests at any time .
This is both an exciting and important initiative for our large and diverse alumni – a cornerstone strategy seeking to sustainably add value for our Old Boys and the wider Scotch Family .
We recently welcomed Luke Stanistreet (' 95 ) to the OSCA Council . Luke is a commercial barrister and has joined two committees : Governance , Finance and Risk , and Careers , as he has a strong engagement in mentoring in the legal profession . James Gallacher (' 90 ) has resigned from Council after more than a decade of involvement and six years as a Councillor . James has made a significant contribution to helping develop connections and the transition of young Old Boys to their lives beyond the gates . We thank James for his contribution and wish him well with his many pursuits .
Finally , I would like to recognise the outstanding performance of the OSCA Office . During the last year OSCA was involved in 330 events and activities , attended by more than 8500 people , and contributed to or created nearly 30,000 engagements with its publications , newsletters and social media activities .
The commitment of the office to catch up on the many cancelled events was remarkable , as was their endeavour and fortitude in holding triple year reunions . It was a wonderful performance . www . scotch . vic . edu . au Great Scot 67
