While tackling his career responsibilities as a teacher through to his role as a principal , Scott has expanded his thought horizons through a Master ’ s in Education and subsequently a Doctorate of Philosophy in Education . He has developed a vision for education that encourages innovation , independent thought , excellence and a sense of service , along with inclusivity and respect for all members of the community .
The third quality I referred to earlier was commitment . Without doubt the role of Principal at Scotch demands a 24 / 7 mindset in order to deal with the demands placed on the individual . Scott and his wife Anna , daughter Stella and son Denzel , have committed themselves enthusiastically to taking up residence on campus , to enable Scott to give the role his all . In addition , Denzel has been enrolled into Year 10 at Scotch , commencing in 2023 .
There is one other quality that Council found compelling , and that is Scott ’ s lifelong passion for music . Having played with the Sydney Symphony Orchestra , among others , and having his original Bachelor ’ s degree in Music Education , Scott deeply appreciates what it takes to team together to create a well-orchestrated outcome .
