A BEQUEST – AN INVESTMENT IN THE SCHOOL ’ S FUTURE

ENSURING THAT SCOTCH WILL ALWAYS OFFER A DISTINCTIVE EDUCATION
The Foundation runs a number of Bequest Luncheons each year to enable members of the Scotch Family to learn more about how bequests have impacted Scotch ’ s past , present and future , and about how people can include either Scotch College or the Scotch College Foundation in their Wills .
The most recent Bequest Luncheon was held on Wednesday 16 February and we were delighted to host a number of guests , including Foundation President Doug Lording (’ 64 ) and his wife , Liz .
Generations of Scotch boys have benefited from the generosity of men and women who , over the years , have bequeathed gifts to the School or to the Scotch College Foundation .
These gifts have had a profound impact on the lives of Scotch boys , through
scholarship opportunities , by developing teaching and learning facilities , and by supporting staff and the School ’ s programs . A gift in a Will can be a way of saying thank you , honouring a loved and respected relative , recognising a valued member of staff or friend , investing in the future , or providing a Scotch education for those whose families otherwise cannot afford it .
From Scotch ’ s earliest days in the heady atmosphere of the gold rush of the 1850s , its leaders have had the foresight and wisdom to plot the best course to stimulate boys ’ minds and bodies .
Strong traditions breed values of integrity , compassion and service , while educational research delivers an innovative curriculum promoting curiosity and self-worth . Embracing the inherent value of each person , boys ponder how the world came to be as it is , and how it might be made to evolve for the greater good .
We are fortunate to have extensive grounds , exceptional facilities and staff members of real commitment who , in building relationships of trust and intimacy , create the space for our boys to question , initiate and lead .
A bequest to Scotch is an investment in the School ’ s future , and an effective way to ensure the School will continue to offer a distinctive education that prepares boys for the challenges of their generation .
If you would like to be included in one of these luncheons please contact Bequest Program Manager Sandra Dick by phone on + 61 3 98104163 or by email at sandra . dick @ scotch . vic . edu . au .
