runs the family business at Book Book . Finalists in the Farmer of the Year awards are selected from nominations from across Australia in the categories of beef , cropping , dairy , horticulture , sheep and innovation . Judging is focused on production , productivity , innovation and sustainability . JEREMY GUTIERRE (’ 95 ) studied for an Engineering ( Electrical ) and Arts ( Psychology ) double degree at Melbourne University , where , in first year , he met his future wife , Virginia . He moved to Albury- Wodonga in 2001 to work as an electrical engineer with Mars Australia . Moving to the UK in 2004 , he worked for Airbus and later London Underground . Though London was a great place to live and work , in 2008 Jeremy returned to Australia , and married Virginia in the Scotch Chapel .
The UK lured Jeremy and Virginia back again for another two years , where Jeremy again worked for London Underground . In 2010 he and Virginia returned to Australia , where son Leo was born in February 2010 . Leo will start at Scotch in Year 7 next year . Daughter Sia was born in 2012 .
The family now lives at Mont Albert , and Jeremy is a Senior Project Manager with global engineering firm WSP . He is currently working on Melbourne ’ s level crossing removal program .
Jeremy enjoys electronic music , running / cycling and generally keeping active , gardening , beer tasting and socialising . He still regularly catches up with a number of Scotch friends .
KEVIN LEE (’ 99 ) completed a Bachelor of Business and Commerce at Monash University and an MBA at the University of Melbourne . Since finishing at Scotch , Kevin has worked in the real estate and
property sector . He is Managing Director at Riverlee , a private property development and investment firm specialising in the development of mixed use precincts and asset management of commercial property .
Some of his projects currently under construction include New Epping in Melbourne ’ s northern growth corridor , where Riverlee is building a new Ramsayoperated private hospital , and 1 Hotel & Homes at Seafarers , along the Yarra River , which will comprise a five-star eco-luxury hotel , and will also be Melbourne ’ s first international hotel-branded residences . Kevin and his wife May have three children – two boys aged eight and six , and a girl aged four .

2000s

After leaving Scotch , MICHAEL HU (’ 04 ) completed a Bachelor of Laws and Bachelor of Commerce at the University of Melbourne , before commencing a career in investment banking in Melbourne and then private equity investing in Brisbane . Michael relocated to Asia in 2014 to further his career in finance and seek a new challenge , working in Shanghai , Singapore and Hong Kong before finally resettling in Singapore , where he is now a Managing Director at a leading global private investment firm .
Michael is a frequent traveller to Europe , North America and Asia . His next adventure is targeted for South America .
When not in the office , you can find Michael in a boxing gym , on a tennis court , or cycling the roads of Singapore .
Actor , writer and theatre producer BEN ANDREWS (’ 06 ) has trained both in
Australia , at 16th Street Actors ’ Studio in Melbourne , and overseas , at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts and Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London . He has fully developed his performing arts skills in the decade and a half since leaving school . He recently produced Arthur Miller ’ s Death of a Salesman at fortyfivedownstairs theatre and gallery in Flinders Lane . Ben has served on the committee of the Old Scotch Music and Drama Club , and has contributed to OSMaD ’ s productions both on and off the stage . Post Scotch , the pipes were calling and ROB GOODWIN (’ 08 ) ventured to the land of the Scots during a GAP year . Returning to Australia , he completed Bachelors in Arts ( Criminology ) and Social Science ( Public Health ) at the University of Queensland , with a six-month sojourn to the University of Arizona . While in Queensland he resided at Kings College , becoming , he says , ‘ the best damn Cultural Convener the place had ever seen , a bar so low the current RBA interest rate watches its ankles ’.
Moving back to Melbourne , Rob worked in a warehouse for 11 months , began volunteering at a community radio station in Box Hill , and thought ‘ hey , this is fun ’. Cue a career change , resulting in work at 3AW Radio for four years in Sales and Production before he returned to Queensland , where he presented a breakfast program on 4ZR in the remote cattle runs of Roma and Kingaroy for the next two years .
He now lives at Traralgon , where he works at TRFM on afternoon radio and as a copywriter .
