BEST SWIMMING SEASON IN 15 YEARS

SCOTCH BOYS SEIZE THE OPPORTUNITIES TO IMPROVE THEIR SWIMMING SKILLS
The Scotch College swimming team had its most successful swimming season in the last 15 years , winning the All Schools Championships , and coming second in the APS finals .
A relatively long season in comparison to other years meant there were plenty of opportunities for boys to improve their swimming skills and times , and almost all of them took up that opportunity .
It was the first ‘ normal ’ APS finals in three years . In 2020 the final was cancelled on the morning of the event ; in 2021 the event went ahead , but with only swimmers , coaches and parents of Year 11 and 12 boys in the stand . Come 2022 , the grandstand was shaking , with a team of 40 swimmers , their parents , extended family and friends present , and to everyone ’ s delight the ‘ Red Army ’ in full voice !
There were many highlights , and it is very hard to pick a favourite , however it is impossible to go past the open 4x50 metres freestyle relay : in order of swim , Dominic Tsui , Justin Tan , Seba Negri and
Toby McOmish ( all Year 12 ). These boys have been dominant over all of their Scotch time in various combinations , holding four of six age group freestyle relays records . In their final swim representing Scotch on the final event of the night they smashed the existing APS record by 1.3 seconds .
Other notable achievements throughout the season include the following boys who broke Scotch records either individually or as part of a relay : Toby McOmish , Dominic Tsui , Justin Tan , Kevin Sun ( Year 11 ), Seba Negri , Tiernan Lim Joon ( Year 12 ) and Tom Roach ( Year 8 ). The following boys also broke APS records ; Alex Haigh , Bart Leeton , Harrison Nunn , Zach Haigh ( all Year 8 ), Justin Tan ( Year 12 ), Harry Hay , Sam Knights ( both Year 11 ) , Seba Negri , Toby McOmish , George Xie , Chan Charoensuk , Kyan Lim Joon ( all Year 8 ) and Dominic Tsui ( Year 12 ).
