Senior Scotch students were placegetters at all year levels of the Goethe Poetry Competition , run by the University of Melbourne for Years 10-12 .
The boys ’ task was to choose a poem from a list of long and challenging German classics , and then to recite the poem over Zoom before judges . The competition was open to secondary school students from all over Victoria .

SCOTCH PERFORMS CREDITABLY IN GOETHE POETRY COMPETITION

Scotch was well represented at all year levels
In Year 10 , Christopher O ’ Connell was awarded third place , as was Prithvi Ramesh Etta at Year 11 level . In Year 12 we took out both first and second prizes : Wilson Cheng was awarded second place , and in first place was Charlie Lines-Perrier for his amazing rendition of Goethe ’ s Prometheus .
All boys are to be congratulated on their efforts . In addition to the placegetters , the
following boys also competed , ensuring that Scotch was as always well represented :

EXCELLENT RESULTS IN GERMAN POETRY COMPETITION

Success in competition finals
Once again Scotch boys from Years 4-9 achieved great success in the finals of the Association of German Teachers of Victoria ’ s German poetry competition . The boys were required to learn a poem and recite it , this year over Zoom , in front of judges .
These boys achieved a placing at our regional final , which was hosted by PLC :
Grade 4 : first , Zachary Rallis ; second , John Livitsanos ; third Aaron Bandara
Grade 5 : first , Noah Stamoulis ; second , Rahul Appu ; third , Adam Chehata
Grade 6 : first , Aaryan Berera ; second , Jamin Ho ; third Rohan Cali
Year 7 : first , Ethan Wong ; third , Brendan Teoh
Year 9 : first , Geoff Liu ; third , Samiyar Samiee
All students who finished first and second from Years 5-9 then advanced to the state final , where we also achieved very strong results .
Noah Stamoulis finished fifth in the state for Grade 5 , Aaryan Berera was third in
Grade 6 ; and in Year 9 , Geoff Liu finished second .
Congratulations to all boys for representing Scotch so well , and to their German teachers , including Frau Cornelia in the Junior School .
