After 170 years of Scotch , the Year 6 class of 2021 was the embodiment of improvement throughout the years . Despite the challenges of living through the world ’ s longest lockdown , we came out the other side , unscathed and ready for 2022 .
As Scotch boys , we have had many learning opportunities to develop chivalry , kindness , leadership , discipline , resilience and diligence into our lives . Through Junior School , we learned many valuable things . We know that Senior School will nurture and reinforce these values even more . We look forward to spending our teenage years within this wonderful School . I hope this junior class of 2021 will always have these values . NATHAN NAI and MATTHEW CHEN
Scotch College was founded in 1851 and is coming up on its 170th anniversary . I ’ ve been here for seven years and I ’ ve learnt so much in that time . I ’ ve made many friends here and I owe so much to the School , and I ’ m so lucky that my parents decided to send me here .
Recently , coronavirus has turned our lives upside down and we have had to go to school online from home , using Zoom . Lockdown hasn ’ t been great , but I think there have been many important things it has taught us . We have learnt about resilience , organisation , tolerance and being kind . We learned about ourselves and about people close to us . I think it ’ s important to not just survive lockdown , but to take the things it ’ s taught us and move forward with more strength . WILLIAM WOOD
2021 has been a hard year for everyone . Things have changed and lockdown has been tough , and Scotch boys have had to work hard to adapt to it . During lockdown there have been bad things , but there have also been plenty of fantastic things like spending more time with the family and getting to know our immediate family much better , and having lovely hot lunches .
Also , Year 6 boys have had to become much more responsible , very independent , and definitely more organised during lockdown , which is very good preparation for Year 7 . The Year 6 boys are now much more prepared for the Senior School because of lockdown so , all in all , lockdown has helped the Year 6 boys in 2021 . ALEXANDER ANG and SASH YUVARAJ
As part of Scotch ’ s Class of 2021 on its 170th anniversary , we feel very honoured and happy that we can reflect on our seven years at Scotch . Both of us have been here since we were in Prep in 2015 , and have had Scotch ’ s wonderful community to help us and other people develop and mature . We have enjoyed the commitment that our teachers have shown to us , to help everyone learn and grow . JAMIN HO and ETHAN BATES

Scotch is renowned for its musical achievements and annual concerts . Since its founding in 1851 , Scotch has always placed great emphasis on music . The School ’ s music building , the James Forbes Academy , the 21st century Scotch Music School , was opened in 2005 . This building was made in honour of Scotch ’ s founder , James Forbes .
Scotch has also earned a high-ranked reputation in sporting events . Sport brings joy to families by allowing them to watch the events . In light of these recent events , COVID-19 has prevented us from having sporting events such as Family Day . However , before this chain of events , Scotch ’ s Years 5 to 12 participated in APS , an inter-school sporting event . ROHAN CALI and JOEL HENG www . scotch . vic . edu . au Great Scot 11
