TARTAN DREAM BECOMES REALITY

TARTAN CAN NOW BE ORDERED AND PROUDLY WORN

For many years a tartan for the Scotch Family was an idea and a dream ; then it became a design , and now it is both cloth and kilts .
In July one of Loch Carron ’ s looms in Scotland wove together threads of cardinal , gold and blue . In doing so they created the very first bolts of a distinctive tartan that is now available for OSCA and the wider Scotch Family to wear .
A week later two bolts of cloth arrived arrived in Brisbane and the manufacture of kilts and trews then began . The kilts and trews are being made to measure there by St Kilda Retail , which has been making kilts in Australia for several decades .
A significant number of pre-orders had been received and most them were fulfilled during August . OSCA Executive Director , Scott Montgomery (’ 85 ), then became the new tartan ’ s first model .
Ample quantities of fabric remain available – so if you would like to acquire a kilt or trews , whether for yourself or as a special gift , then please see the ordering details at www . oscanet . com . au / the-osca-tartan-project /. St Kilda Retail has also made available various accessories at considerably reduced prices to allow first-time wearers to kit themselves fully .
In keeping with the Scottish origins of the School and many of its families , we now look forward to seeing the tartan being proudly worn on OSCA , Scotch Family and Scottish-related occasions . In the testing times of 2020 and 2021 it will surely bring us cheer .
