MR SCOTT MONTGOMERY (' 85 ) OSCA EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

REACHING OUT TO OUR YOUNG OLD BOYS

Great podcast interviews with characters from our Young Old Boys community
Do you recall the first time you watched the Olympics ? It ’ s showing my age , but I can still recall sitting at home on the beanbag watching the Montreal Olympics back in 1976 with Nadia Comaneci getting a perfect score in the gymnastics . I ’ m not sure why I remember that .
And where were you when Cathy Freeman won that historic 400 metres at the Sydney 2000 Olympic Games ? I was fortunate enough to have a seat on the home turn at Homebush stadium , sitting with family and friends . What a buzz that was . Years on , the Games still enthral the world and it was great having a few Scotch connections to follow in Tokyo .
The OSCA podcast series continues to grow in popularity , and there have been some great interviews with characters from our Young Old Boys community . The latest episode with Ben Strathmore (’ 13 ) gives a fascinating insight into life as a musician , living in America and having a go at something he is passionate about . Be sure to check them out during your next walk . It ’ s always great to have chats with the Young Old Boys , and never better than reaching out to Fred Strong (’ 20 ) and Jimmy Gadsden (’ 20 ) and hearing about their time at Tiwi College in the Northern Territory . They gained wonderful life experiences , and gave back to the community very commendably . Be sure to read their story in this section of Great Scot .
