In another disrupted year it was a real joy to see the house curtain rise on this year ’ s Senior Play . As the Geoffrey McComas Theatre burst back into life in May , many people in the Scotch community came along to support our performers and to feel , once again , the spark between actor and audience .
Led by Edward Manderson ( Year 11 ) playing Arturo Ui , an ensemble of 25 boys performed in the show , supported by a wonderful backstage crew , overseen by Tianyi Yu ( Year 12 – Drama Vice Captain ) who made his debut as Stage Manager this year .
Many of the Year 12 student performers have been treading the Geoffrey McComas Theatre boards since Year 7 and we thank them for their incredible contribution . JJ Douglas , Connor Mason-Jones ,
Ben Daley and Charlie Lines-Perrier ( Drama Captain ) all featured in the Senior Play ’ s Cauliflower Trust . Thomas Law , Samuel Start , Michael McGoldrick and Henry Wilcox ( Drama Vice Captain ) all shone in their final school roles .
Performed in a stark epic style , this play presents many challenges to both actors and audiences alike . It was great to see all of the performers embrace the darkly comic nature of this work and the important history behind it . We congratulate all of the students involved in an excellent season .
