After many months of planning we were excited to launch the Ken Field Virtual Gallery of Art earlier this year . The online gallery is unique in that it is a completely virtual gallery , not a reproduction of a physical gallery , yet it appears as if it is located on the Scotch grounds .
The gallery has been created to connect the Scotch community through curated exhibitions that can be accessed at any time , even when students are separated by the new world of online learning . These exhibitions of artworks will be relevant to the Scotch community , as they will include works by Artists-in-Residence and Scotch boys , and artefacts selected from Scotch ’ s Archives . The exhibitions will be updated regularly and provide topics of interest to all members of the Scotch community .
The gallery takes its name from Mr Ken Field , who was Scotch College Bursar from 1953-1985 . Ken was a great supporter of the arts at Scotch , and the Ken Field Endowment Fund for the Arts continues to provide valuable opportunities for Scotch students across the arts subjects .
The current exhibitions , including an exhibition by our Artist-in- Residence , Godwin Bradbeer , can be accessed by searching for ‘ Ken Field Gallery ’ on the Scotch website and following the links . Alternatively , the QR code on this page can be scanned for direct access to the gallery website .
