ON STAGE IN THE ALL-STATE JAZZ CHAMPIONSHIPS
After such a long period of nonperformance , we were delighted to have all four Scotch Big Bands ( approximately 80 boys ) participate in the inaugural All-State Jazz Championships . This event was organised in Victoria to provide performance opportunities for schools which would normally be heading to Generations in Jazz in Mount Gambier .
Our Morrison Street Big Band , led by David Musk , the Callantina Band ( Daniel Zisin ), the Stage Band ( Chris Farrands ) and the Show Band ( Megan Philip ) spent Sunday May 4 at St Leonard ’ s College with many other school bands , performing to an audience for the first time in over a year . It was such a great atmosphere , and everyone felt the relief and joy to be able to perform ‘ live ’ again after such a disappointing 12 months .
Thanks to the many parents and families who came to offer their support on the day , and congratulations to all the boys and staff for their efforts .
