THE REFURBISHED JUNIOR SCHOOL LIBRARY AND ICT TEACHING SPACE IS AN INVITING PLACE ,
The Harbig Junior School Library and the Information and Communication Technology areas were wonderfully renovated over the 2020 / 21 summer break .
For many years the Library facilities were split between an upper and a lower area , with the Library teaching area upstairs and the fiction collection and ICT teaching space in among the non-fiction book collection on the lower floor .
Several years ago plans were drawn up to consolidate all of the library resources and classroom , including both fiction and nonfiction collections onto the same level , which also involved moving the ICT teaching facilities upstairs . After many years of transporting fiction books up and down the staircase to reshelve , and also sharing the borrowing area downstairs with computer classes , it seemed a sensible and practical solution to change the layout and give the library a fresh and modern refurbishment . Unfortunately a number of factors delayed the refurbishment , until works finally started over the summer break .
The final result is an amazing , light-filled and spacious new library with incredible city views , and a dynamic classroom area which includes innovative seating and visually appealing shelving . The new design makes it easy for the boys to find and borrow books from the extensive collection , all in the one space . The improvements
